Light itself can be a dramatic element in a room and a pane of glass can become art
in its own right. One of the easiest ways to do this is through glazing bars. Marvin offer
three types of glazing bars that can be used in almost any window or door, in custom
or standard shapes.
Authentic Glazing Bars (ADL)
Separate glass pieces are individually glazed between wood muntin boards.
Standard and custom patterns are available.
Simulated Glazing Bars (SDL)
These provide a traditional look with greater efficiency. Muntins are permanently
adhered to both sides of the window. Spacer bars can be installed within the
glass, reinforcing the SDL appearance.
Grilles
These change the style of a window dramatically, as well as the fall of light.
Marvin Windows and Doors offer removable grilles, that provide the effect of glazing bars, but are
easily removed for glass cleaning. Made from solid pine, they can appear on the
interior of a window, in custom or standard patterns.
People often use glazing bars on the top or perimeter of the glass, leaving
eye-level panes clear for unobstructed views without sacrificing architectural impact.
